Transition Coaching

Transition coaching helps clients make the most of the opportunities that life changes can provide. Transitions we experience in the course of life are a rich time for learning, and an opportunity to move mindfully, creatively, and proactively into the next chapter of life. Whether leaving a job or career, ending an old or beginning a new relationship, or experiencing any other significant transition, coaching helps us learn about ourselves and mindfully create the path ahead.

Coaching engagements are typically 10-14 one-hour sessions (or a lesser number of 90-minute sessions), spread over four months, followed by potential additional sessions to assist in ongoing work. Sessions can be by telephone, Skype, or in person.

Leadership Coaching

Leadership or executive coaching helps leaders to develop greater self-awareness and work more effectively in leading others within an organization. Goals include developing more effective leadership skills and greater personal fulfillment in a leadership role. The number of sessions will depend on the needs of the individual and relevant organization, and the desirability of follow-up sessions to assist in ongoing work.

Personal Coaching

Personal or life coaching helps individuals become more aware of their deepest values, motivations, desires and needs, as well as personal patterns and habits that can inhibit growth and achievement. Coaching can be a powerful tool for moving away from self-limiting behavior, and moving towards a more fulfilling and engaged life.

As with transition coaching, the engagement is typically 10-14 sessions spread over four months, followed by potential additional sessions to assist in ongoing work.

Group Facilitation and Speaking

For the last eight years, I have been a facilitator at the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, one of the country's leading educators in Renewal, Coaching and Leadership Development. Their programs Lifelaunch, Thirdlaunch and Bold Living After Work help individuals gain clarity about what is most important to them, and then mindfully plan how to incorporate that learning into their lives. Thirdlaunch and Bold Living focus on individuals 50 and over, for whom making a living is no longer the primary motivator, and who desire to align their lives with their core values and live more purposefully and passionately. Many participants in these programs are entering their so-called "retirement years" and exploring how to make this extended time fully engaging and meaningful.

The programs provide a powerful and rewarding opportunity for participants to reflect back on their prior path in life, gain further self-awareness, learn better what deeply engages them, and chart a new course determined by greater awareness. These programs are available through the Hudson Institute either on-site in Santa Barbara or by arrangement for specific groups at their location. I am also available to speak on the power, importance and methodology of this work, and how to find new meaning and direction at this stage of life.
